What's this "Free Promo Code" stuff all about?

As you may know, Apple allows developers to distribute promo codes for promotional/testing purposes. The IAA creates daily drawings for people with a Facebook account to participate and be able to win one of these promo codes.

Why do I need to have a Facebook account to participate?

First we don't want our server to be spammed with users registering just to enter our drawing; since most people already have an account there we don't want to force them to register here too. Secondly this allows developers to get a little bit of exposure from people who enter the drawing.

What exposure are you talking about?

As you confirm your partecipation to the drawing a wall post will be published on your profile. Nothing invasive, it looks like this. It costs you nothing and it helps developers.

How many drawings can I enter per day?

You may enter up to 3 drawings per day, but not for the same app. If you don't win the first time you can always enter the drawing again the day after.

What and how are my Facebook information used?

Your first name, last name and e-mail will be the only information we will pull out of your Facebook account and we will never sell or even display any of these information. The only exception is the first name and first letter of the last name, which will be displayed in the list of winners. Your e-mail will be used for the sole purpose of contacting you in case you are the winner of the drawing.

Where can I redeem the promo codes?

You can redeem the promo codes in the U.S. iTunes Store. If you are entering the drawing from a different country you will have to temporary switch App Store to redeem your promo code. Please refer to Apple's documentation for more information on how to do this.
